Picking
Picking a lock is the most common way of opening a lock in a non destructive entry (NDE) and probably the most enjoyable way for a hobby lock picker.
There are many many picks and ways to do that: raking, single pin picking are the most common ways .Also some locks are much harder than others as they contains mushroom pins ,a very tight key way etc.
I find that cutaway locks are a very good aid if you want to learn how to pick locks as they would save you a lot of time and pain learning what to do.
I always cutaway locks that I’m not familiar with or having hard time picking.
