All you need to know about locks and picking them

About

Hello there, my name is Rafael (my friends call me Raf) and I’m a locksmith based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
I am one of those lucky people who actually make a living out of their hobby.
I deal mostly with cars and dimple locks but I always keep a close eye on any type of lock that I can get my hands on.  I am a member of the UKBK forum and I am learning a lot from this forum (I also had the pleasure of meeting some very friendly, fantastic lock pickers from there). I also joined the DBC forum and if anyone is looking for a friendly and very informative forum, I would highly recommend them both.

Through this site I would like to share my work and the things learned about working with locks, as well as some nice tips which I hope will be interesting for all the people out there who are interested in the world of lock picking.

ALL OF THE LOCKS THAT ARE SHOWN IN MY BLOG HAVE NOT BE  MODIFIED IN ANY WAY, HOWEVER IT IS  IMPORTANT TO MENTION THAT PICKING ANY BRAND OF LOCKS DOESN’T MEAN TO SAY THAT IT WILL OPEN ALL OF THEM EXCEPT THE ONES THAT I AM PICKING .

WHICH WAFERS (POSITIONS) ARE IN THE DOOR of a 2001 Ford Focus?
    and
WHAT ARE THE CUTS for a 2000 Honda Accord with a key code of “8400”?
    Thank you very much!!!

    • raf

      Hello there

To my knowledge all 10 wafers are in the door lock of Ford HU101 ,there are 5 heights to each one of them .
      Positios are 1,2 5,6 9,10 and 3,4 7,8.

Your code 8400 doesn’t show anything pls check again.

      Regards,

      Raf

    Hi Raf

I have a lock that I need a key made for. It is a dimple disc lock and I believe that the key should be a DK6. I can send you 2 or 3 locks that are keyed alike to test with. Let me know if this is a service you offer.

    Thanks

  21. Hi Raf
Great site, Loads of good info. I found good result picking some mul-t- cylinders from the left hand side. There a couple of vids on you tube picking iseo dimples like this. If you trap pick relieve tension and start again.
Bye the way i followed Chelsea late 70s thru to late 80s home and some away better atmosphere then, but no trophies

      Hello Neil.

Know what you mean about the mul-t-locks but there is a risk of the pick getting caught in the lock.

You are very right about Chelsea and I do feel the same.

    dear raf,
thanks for the nice site, I have question for you, hope you can respond me with an honest reply,
say that you will change the barrel in your home door in an apartment, would you buy a keso or mul-t-lock lock
and which type would you prefer, I know that mul-t-lock is Israel made and Keso is Swiss made.
thanks fro the answer in advance.
    kind regards
    ugur

      Hello Ugur

Both of them are good locks.

Evva is also a great option. I have the Evva MCS in my door.
