Z-Con Lock
Hello all
Here is a lock I recently got. A very well made I think
The lock is called Z-Con and I’m not sure where it is made. The mechansim and the style of the lock are very similar to other French locks I know.
The is very strange looking key but has a very clever design ,It’s not only the spaces between the discs, it is also the thickness of the key that enable the lock to open.
Like many French pompes locks the face of the lock doesn’t turn at all. This makes this lock very hard to pick.
The lock itself only contains 3 discs but inside the core of the lock there are also 3 grooves that the discs must sits in before the lock can be opened.
Here is the sheer line.
The lock doesn’t have a card to go with which makes me wonder about the make of the lock.
It would be very interesting to find out how a key is copied to this lock.

Sorry Bro, no idea….
Great little lock…very smart idea…
Were you able to “pick” it? Or anything?

Hey Rafi, very interesting blog! Keep up the good work!
I was wondering if you had any tips for a beginner lock picker (for a hobby – LockSport)
who wants to get started in Israel. Where is a good place to get practice locks? Any and all advice is welcome!

That’s a very interesting lock indeed! Where does one acquire a lock like this?
I think that an impressioning tool could be made from maybe a telescopic tube like the old car aerials?

So this just pops open without turning of a key, just insertion?
Could it be picked by applying shackle tension and then pushing the disks inwards and releasing? Like overlifting them

Did you manage to pick this one open Raf? I would opt for an overlifting type attack

Hello Jay hope you are well
Not a chance to overlift this lock.

Hey Raf, how’s your progress on this Z-Con?
Ps. Do you reply to comments? I’ve never seen you post anything but questions. Am I missing something? Maybe I’m looking in the wrong section?
After all I’m not computer savvy at all…
I’m totally being honest when I say I’m suprized everytime I’m actually able to just get my “phone” to preform any task whatsoever….lol
Peace n Tanks

Hello Dizzy I do reply to comments and questions when they are relevant.
Not had much time to play with the Z-con and some how I feel the many methods will not work there.

The lock is a Mindy padlock, apparently a Kenyan lock company. Can be purchased on eBay and Kenyan websites like this one: http://kariokor.olx.co.ke/mindy-padlock-the-very-best-padlock-for-your-security-iid-574574788
Price there translates to around 17$.

From google, it appears that it’s made in China and sold pretty much only in Kenya. I got one one Amazon.

They picked mine a few days ago and stole my electronics. Take care Jumaa but I’m guessing there’s some sort of master key.
